Joining as a Lead BI Consultant you will form a critical part of the pre-sales team, acting as their thought leader covering all things to do with Business Intelligence. Harnessing the talent of the existing BI team you will play a critical role in designing and delivering customised innovative BI solutions for clients, achieved by utilising exceptional data and stakeholder management, advanced analytics and modelling skills from both your team and yourself.
Expect to oversee and lead collaborative, team-based projects that add tremendous value to client businesses, typical projects include: Data warehouse modelling, ETL multi-dimensional cubes, dashboards, reports and other BI solutions (e.g. SMS alerting).
Your role as a Lead BI Consultant / Pre-Sales BI Consultant will break down as follows:
• Strong involvement in pre-sales and account management activities, this will include: supporting the sales process; providing technical support; pre-sales solution architecture; proposal development; supporting tender responses; account management and providing design guidance for BI applications.
• Perhaps a third of your time will be spent focussing on client delivery, this means: identifying opportunities; leading teams that deliver superb client results (Agile); designing & developing data mining solutions; driving intellectual capital, and proactively advancing personal projects like: research, white papers, blogs etc.
• Acting in a lead role you will also be required to spend some of your time mentoring and coaching the BI team.
To qualify... You will need to possess extensive Business Intelligence / BI Consultancy experience backed up by strong exposure to the following: Data warehouse and ETL experience; Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Database engine; Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integration Services; Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services; Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services.
Combining the above with great client facing skills, an analytical ability to solve advanced problems and a passion for innovation and fresh thinking this opportunity will see you continue to advance an already impressive career whilst working on highly intelligent solutions with highly intelligent people.
BI technologies such as MicroStrategy, Business Object, Hyperion, Cognos are all advantageous as would be a knowledge of Data warehouse theory (Kimball method), data visualisation best practices and the Healthcare industry.
