SAP HR Personnel Events

Personnel Event groups together all infotypes which are used to control the entry of a particular personnel procedure. Ensures relevant information is not missed.

An event combines infotypes required to be entered into the system and allows them to be processed sequentially.

Personnel Events create a history of all major changes occurring to an employee during his lifetime with the organization.

Examples are: Hiring, Change of Position, Transfer, Change of Pay, Termination, Rehire.

Keep track of significant employment activities on a individual's record within SAP.

All the screens for required information are contained within the Events.

What is Hiring Event ?

The Hire Event is a Personnel Event that requires the user to scroll through, and complete the necessary infotypes required to "hire" someone inot the SAP system. SAP creates a personnel number for an employee in the Hiring Event.

The purpose of the Hire Event is to create personnel numbers which will add employees to SAP for the first time.

What is Rehire/Re-entry Event ?

The Re-entry Event should be used whenever an employee is rehired after having previously been terminated.

What is Change in Org. Assignment Event ?

The Change in Org. Assignment Event should be used whenever a current employee changes positions or transfers to a different department, or for changes in PA, EG or ESG (any change to infotype 0001).

What is Change of Pay Even ?

The Change of Pay Event should be used when a current employee receives a salary change only without a position or other change.

What is Leave of Absense Event ?

This event is to be used whenever an employee is on leave for a certain period of time (based on company policy).

What is Return from Leave of Absense Event: ?

This event is to be used when the employee officially returns from a LOA.

What is Leave-Inactive Status Event ?

The Leave-Inactive Status Event is used when an employee goes on a leave and is placed into an inactive status. Reasons for inactive status include: Long Term Disability, Educational, Military - Long Term, Personal, Administration (Non-voluntary).

What is Termination Event ?

The Termination event should be processed after an employee's termination date is determined by management.
